If you just need to get sh*t done faster…

Do you ever just want things to be simplified? Easier? Less overall to do? I know I do. I've been on this quest for about a year to create rhythm and more ease in my life.

On my mission for more chill, I've tried it all.. systems, habit stacking, time blocking, purging, batching, manifesting, and scheduling. You name it, I tested it out.

Sadly, it didn't matter if I de-cluttered, and donated 25 bags to Goodwill in the name of having less or minimalism because I still felt chaotic on the inside.

What it ultimately came down to was not that I didn't need less (I actually like my materialistic items.) I just needed to get shit done faster.

I've almost mastered it and I have to share...

Aside from having a sexy mindset combined with my method of alignment, here are my top 4 tricks to get more done with three kids and my own business...

1. Habit Stack.

Not sure if my girl Sarah or my M3 community taught me this first, but habit stacking is the ultimate multi-tasking trick that works for me. It means you stack on a new habit with an old one.

Examples:

Listening to my visualization while I clean the kitchen or walk the dog.

Cleaning the bathroom when I’m in there doing my makeup, bath time, or helping a kid. I keep the cleaning products in each bathroom. I spray it down, clean it and, like magic, I am in there 5 extra minutes max with a clean bathroom all the time. Parents with little boys understand this need to always clean the bathroom. By keeping everything to clean already in the bathroom, I no longer head to the kitchen to only get sidetracked and forget to clean. My excuse that I don't have time no longer holds up.

Habit stacking creates rhythms and behaviors for the things you can't seem to make time for. It’s brilliant.

You don't need more time. You need your time to expand for you.

2. Set alarms.

Yes, I have a serious addiction to my alarms. What do I mean? I use the alarms in my iphone to help me stay on task. This is not on my calendar but truly under my clock app, I set alarms for everything! Ask my clients.

Examples:

Every morning there is an alarm at 7:30 am to shower. One at 8:00 am for my kids to get dressed and another at 8:30 am to get in the car. My kids love the alarms because I am no longer telling them 20 times to get dressed. They know what to do when and we all feel more peaceful.

I have a monthly alarm set to remember to book date nights.

I use alarms to remind me to work on my mindset and nervous system.

One that goes off when I need to leave for after school pick up.

I have all of my clients using alarms too. It simplifies the popcorn and helps keep you on track.

3. Scheduling things with my natural energy.

This one takes some trial and error with a side of flexibility for each stage/season of life.

To keep it simple, if you are a morning person maximize it. Wake up earlier and get what NEEDS to get done, done. Save scrolling and texting for after dinner.

If you are a night owl, just be okay with that and allow yourself time to sleep in. Knowing you will be up later than most people and that is right for you and your energy.

If you cycle sync, adjust your entire schedule around your cycle. From when you have meetings, hair appointments, and even the workouts you do. This will change your life.

Start to notice when you have what types of energy. For me, I love working on Saturdays. I have more focus and feel calm. So I just work Saturday and let myself take Thursdays off. If you have big Monday energy but fizzle by Wednesday roll with it. Honoring your natural energy highs and lows is wonderful self awareness.

4. Front load.

No, I'm not talking about my washer (which I am totally over btw. Don't buy a front load washer.) I'm talking about your week. Front-load that b*itch every week.

Examples:

Make Monday and Tuesday your busy, get-things-done days.

In my business, this looks like all the meetings, longer work days, teaching, content creation, everything!

In my personal life, this looks like laundry, meal prep or at least shopping and cleaning the house. Sunday night and Monday night are my time for the house stuff. Johnny and I divide and conquer.

I find when I front load and take two days to get it all done, I have WAY more space the rest of the week to workout, grab a coffee date, play with my kids and feel expansion overall.

For me, doing a little bit here and there was dividing my energy and wearing me out. Having two big days allowed my time the rest of the week to expand because I am calm and more present. Plus, the Universe loves laser-sharp focus.

That's it.

Pretty cool right? After over a year of saying, "this is not working" when it came to how my life and schedule felt,  I've found what works for me and my family. I literally could not do less, I just needed to get things done faster. Now I have time to workout. Time to fold laundry. Time to cook a meal. Time to play and time to just be.

We all know, when Mama is happy, we're all happy. So make yourself happy. Figure out your own shit and start making life easier. Then hit me up when you want to work on the mindset piece or apply here for some juicy 1:1 coaching.
