5 things women who feel present are doing now, and you can too.

In a world where we are praised for being busy, is hustle still trending, or have we evolved past that need to run on empty?

With trends continuing to show that women want to be more present I have to ask, can we have both? Hustle and calm?

I think they can live next to one another just like your heels and Birkenstocks but I don’t believe they need to be worn at the same time. So yes, you can have productivity, growth, success, calm and connection all at the same time but we can drop that hustle.

How are these women doing it?

1. Nervous system work.

If sleep is queen then understanding and healing your nervous system is king! You can’t afford to not figure this out and then double down in your healing. You’ve lived in fight or flight (freeze or fawn) long enough. It’s time to heal your body and mind.

For me, nervous system healing has allowed me to show up fully, to be calm and present even in stressful situations and seasons.

2. Less distractions = greater focus.

By turning off all of your notifications, and I mean all of them, you will be more present for longer stretches of time. This presence allows you to be hyper-focused and get more done at once.

What do I recommend?

Turn off your ring tones, take off you apple watch, shut down push notifications for all of your apps, email, slack, all of it. This single move is a HUGE game-changer for my clients. You will be amazed how clear you feel when you aren’t being interrupted every 45 seconds.

(Mom Tip: There is no way I am putting my phone on silent if my kids are not with me. In this case, I have specific ring tones for the people who are in charge of my kiddos and I put every other call or text on silent. This way I know to answer when I hear the specific tone come through.)

3. Schedule in time to do nothing / to have white space.

You don’t have to break up with your calendar to have more time. Instead, try booking time for rest. It can be once a week for a few hours, one weekend a month, or anything else that works for you. By blocking it out on your calendar you are setting yourself up for success. After years of doing this, I now look forward to my phone free, plan free weekend each month.

4. Live in alignment.

Aka stop doing shit you hate and start putting your energy into things that support how you want to feel.

5. Allow yourself grace.

Being present is a new skill you will have to practice. Just like you had to get “better” at doing more and more things (enter your 3rd cup of coffee) you also have to learn how to be chill af.

Create a mantra that supports your new calm and present energy. Practice my Method of alignment weekly and allow yourself to slow down a smidge. Watch as the present version of who you are craving starts to come to life.

All of these recommendations work! I’ve seen it time and again with my coaching clients When they go from popcorn brain and burn out to focused and living with ease. It’s all connected.

When your nervous system is healthy you feel safe (#1.) When you feel safe you can let go of the limiting beliefs that you need to do more to be of value.

When you understand you’re still amazing without adrenaline you can more clearly see how you actually want to live (#4) and then you can create time to live that way.

Pretty great right?
